The Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group was founded by Mr. P. van Leeuwen in 1924 in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands. Expansion abroad started with the foundation of a subsidiary in Vilvoorde, in Belgium, in 1947. After 1950 Van Leeuwen grew its European network by setting up branches in France, the UK and Germany. In the 70s and 80s the company spread its wings to North America, Asia and Australia. This was later followed by expansion into the Middle East and, more recently, China and Central Europe.  The Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group has grown to its present size through organic growth and strategic acquisitions and today has dozens of sites in many countries spread over four continents.
