Pipes and tubes are indispensable components in a wide variety of infrastructure projects. They are used in guard rails, for instance, and in lighting columns, gantries and traffic signs in roadbuilding. They are also used in port structures and leading jetties/fender piling for guiding ships. Bridge construction is another application that uses pipes and tubes of all shapes and sizes. The aesthetically pleasing, closed nature of pipes and tubes is often a reason for choosing them rather than beams or other sections.

Protecting the steel used in infrastructure applications is extremely important. We offer various kinds of protection, as described in the section on material processing. The closed form of pipes and tubes is an advantage from this point of view too, because they have a smaller surface area to process than an open profile of the same strength.
