Shipbuilding is a great consumer of pipe and pipe components. Whether the vessel is a dredger – a trailing suction hopper dredger or a cutter suction dredger perhaps – or a tanker, container ship, inland vessel or coaster, pipes are required in almost every part of the ship. Examples include:
- Piping systems in the engine room
- Fuel pipes
- Exhaust systems
- Ballast and bilge pumping systems
- Water jet systems
- Bow thruster tubes
- Suction pipes
- Transportation pipes for loading/unloading freight
- Cylinders for valve operation
- Railings
- Reinforcement and shoring
Space for piping systems in engine rooms is usually very restricted, so special ERW-tube is used, which is easy to bend to acute angles and therefore saves space. These pipes also have a nice bright surface. We have an extensive range of these ‘easy bend’ tubes in stock.
