Van Leeuwen Precision in Deventer, the Netherlands, is a stock-keeping specialist in the field of steel precision tubes and pipes, and other precision products, including cylindrical pipes, hydraulic lines, shafts in shelled, ground and hard chrome-plated products, and various components. The company focuses on supplying (total) solutions for the machine building, hydraulics, automotive and furniture industries. This includes a wide range of treatments, such as cutting, deburring, washing, chrome plating, drilling and honing. Like Van Leeuwen Stainless, Van Leeuwen Precision also serves as a hub for its sister companies in Europe.
In 2019, Van Leeuwen Precision focused its full attention on product development and customer relationships. We have therefore previously decided to appoint a Senior Product Manager who follows all developments closely. At the same time, the market was fairly challenging with a high demand for more competitive prices (price drops) and even shorter delivery times. Van Leeuwen Precision virtually always was able to meet these demands.

‘In 2019, we further expanded our high-quality and diverse product range, for example, with new pipe dimensions and bare bar steel. In addition, we worked together with various customers on developing new products. For example with a company that designs advanced sounding equipment and supplies this equipment for soil surveys on land and at sea. We supplied all of the precision pipes for their soil surveying machines. In 2019, this was supplemented with precision pipes for offshore soil surveying machines. We were involved in this order from the very first product development phase and met with the engineer and the customer at an early stage. We were able to offer much added value on the basis of our technical knowledge. Our ample stocks and logistics expertise furthermore enabled us to make fast deliveries.
Customers like having a one-stop-shop for all of their pipes, pipe products, and associated services. The acquisition of Benteler Distribution has made us into an even larger one-stop-shop and has enabled us to even better profile ourselves on the pipe and tube market.’
