Revival of previous building headquarters Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group

ZWIJNDRECHT, the Netherlands, 12 October 2017 – Today the Mayor of Zwijndrecht, Mr. Dominic Schrijer, visited the construction site of the former headquarters of the Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands. The property is being thoroughly renovated and adapted for use as a modern office called 'De Nieuwe Lindt'. The unveiling of the construction board marked the official start of the renovation’s last phase.

The renovation is being realized by VLOG B.V., the real estate company of the Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group. In total, approximately 2400 m² of office space will be available, in an easily accessible location in the middle of Zwijndrecht's industrial area. In March 2018, the ground floor will be occupied by the company Jiffy, which recently launched a new production facility in Zwijndrecht. Three floors are still available for rent.

"This remarkable building’s revival will contribute significantly to the revitalization of the Groote Lindt business area. ‘De Nieuwe Lindt’ makes Zwijndrecht even more attractive as a business location," said Mayor Dominic Schrijer.

The building of the office started in 1954 after the design of renowned Rotterdam reconstruction architect H.D. Baker. The headquarters of Van Leeuwen was established here for many years, and moved to a new building in 2011 near the company's own outside storage area. After more than 60 years, the former headquarters with a distinctive architecture from the fifties of the last century, will be available as a modern office location. "I consider this property as a landmark building of Zwijndrecht," says Andries Lugten of Lugten Malschaert Architects. "For companies, it offers a beautiful environment to work in."
