Host to honeybees

Our Swedish Van Leeuwen subsidiary Heléns contributes to biodiversity by being host to almost 50,000 honeybees in a small wood on their own premisses.

Honeybees are key organisms for biological diversity through pollination. Ninety percent of wild plants and seventy-five percent of cultivated crops need the help of pollinators in order to exist. This helps to ensure the survival of wild plants and cultivated crops, which provide food and shelter for other animals. This contributes to the UN's Global Goals of biological diversity (Goal No. 15).
